A Long Engagement is a clue in Alone in the Dark (2024).
Overview[]
This item is an engagement ring given to Emily by her late fiancée John Marcus in 1918, before he left to serve in the Great War. However, he returned under the most terrible circumstances as he perished due to the Spanish Flu. Since then, Emily wears the ring, fondly remembering John, but at the same time repressing the memory of his tragic death, deluding herself that her husband died a war hero.
When pointed to the Empty Room by The Dark Man, Emily enters a state of transe, believing she was a patient in Derceto. Emily finds a tear in the wallpaper, revealing the combination to the safe in her engagement ring.
