Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare was a gameboy color version of the game with the same name.

Synopsis[]

From the moment Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac set foot on Shadow Island, they are confronted by mysterious, evil creatures intent on thwarting their progress to recover 3 ancient tablets believed to hold the secret key to some incredible menacing phenomenon. Fears threaten from every corner. The slightest shadow could be hiding deep secrets, or concealing worse nightmares...

Differences with the main version[]

  • Carnby is the only playable character to the storyline.
  • Obed Morton is absent in the game, only Alan is present in the game.
  • Aline is the one who tells Carnby by phone that Charles Fiske is dead and that he was working on a case with her.
  • It was claimed by Aline early in the gaming intro that Alan Morton murdered Charles Fiske.
  • involves an Abkanis indian statuette
  • Aline is the one who organizes the seaplane that takes Carnby to Shadow Island.
  • Alan was a multimillionaire and a recluse who lived on Shadow island.
  • Charles Fiske appears in a mirror in the ground floor of the Morton Mansion, he calls Carby to get him an amulet to make him last longer.
  • It was stated that Alan was transformed by the statue some time before killing Fiske, and has since been in that transformed state
