An Arrow is an object encountered in Alone in the Dark and Alone in the Dark 3, acting respectively as a projectile and as a contraption for a puzzle.
Overview[]
Alone in the Dark (1992)[]
Three Arrows are found in the Forest Room, after searching the plants potted in the base of the statue in the middle of the room. After finding the arrows, spiders will descend in the room, making it inaccessible.
The Arrows are used to defeat one the Animated Portraits in the end of the hallway to reach the Library. The protagonist must fire at the portrait on the far side of the Corridor. The arrows are the only way to defeat the painting.
Alone in the Dark 3[]
An arrow can be found under the bed in the room behind the portrait in Arizona Kid's Room. Unlike the first game, it cannot be used as a weapon. It is actually a contraption that can be used on the ornament by the edge of the bed. It will shoot the arrow in another figure of a tied-up man, and the figure on the other end will turn his spear towards Jed Stone's portrait, revealing a man affected by the ore found beneath Slaughter Gulch.
Notes[]
- Although there is a bow to aim and shoot the arrow, the player can simply throw a lone arrow at the painting, which is not recommended since it gives no opportunity to aim and a big chance to waste an arrow, which is precious to make progress in the game.
