Draft for community guidelines
It's good for each community to work out and set general guidelines for how they work together. This gives a base-line for expected behavior in that community. There are some common guidelines, such as being polite or not vandalizing articles, that are standard on most sites, but a community may want to add in specific points that fit their project and its contributors.
Many of the common guidelines are similar to those found in any community, whether it's offline or online, a social club, gaming guild, or sports team. They are often not all meant to be hard and fast rules, but provide guiding principles for community growth and sustainability.
We strongly encourage communities to create their own specific guidelines and rules that fit thei…
Old News archive thing
Welcome to My Home!
- hello fellow Wiki members, i was thinking it might be best if we all could create some consistency with the location articles, particularly rooms. For example, we should use rooms that are explicitly named "E.g. in a Prima strategy guide or in-game reference". If there is another room with the same name from different games (e.g. Smoking Room), then put the name of the area the room belongs to in brackets after the name (i.e. Smoking Room (Derceto) and Smoking Room (Morton Mansion) ) If, like in any mansion, there are multiple beds just put in something like this: 2nd Floor Bedroom. Any more recommendations would be helpful and greatly conisdered. That is all Sclera1 (talk)

The unnatural darkness that blanketed the remote town of LORWICH, VIRGINIA did not deter THEODORE 'TED' CARNBY. The shadows seemed to have eyes, but so what? If his experience as a 'supernatural private investigator' (a label he neither invited nor appreciated) had taught Carny anything, it was that fear makes for a poor traveling companion, especially when facing the unknown.
A year ago, the DELUGE MULTINATIONAL COMPANY, under the direction of billionaire CEO MITCH PRESTON, purchased and reopened the defunct Lorwich coal mine. Ever since then, rumors of accidents and bizar…

"FAMILY OBLIGATIONS"
Gabriella Saunders came to Lorwich due to a deep sense of family. Her father had vanished on the eve of her wedding. The only clue left behind was a map of Virginia and a handwritten note "Fear, Death, Dark, Lorwich, Suffering, Old, Ancient and ZZ"
While she may have arrived in Lorwich from a sense of duty, she would grow to rue the day she found the town. For she would trade in her family obligations for one of revenge. In the end, the Darkness had to be sated With her blood or another's. It made no difference.
Given her father's history of depression, Gabriella worried she was…

Current status
Welcome to the New Alone in the Dark Digest.
- Hi, everyone, it was generously pointed out to me that the homepage needs to be more organized and modernized, like the other gaming wikis such as Fallout, including our very own slider. I have made a blog page containing a basic template draft, feel free to copy it onto your computer and make it better. happy NYs
- Hi again, i was deliberating whether to include mini-portals form some of the larger subjects, i know that it might be a good idea to at least make one for the other media, but im not sure whether to divide them into the comcis and films or have one portal address both. any suggestions/imput is more than welcome, cheers Sclera1 (talk) 07:30, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Alone in the Dark 3 comic
I think we really do need some more info on the Alone in the Dark comic that was based off the third game.
Illumination- What went wrong?
right Now, i might try and make a constructive discussion as to why Illumination was not the game some of the people were hoping for.
Here are somew dot points of what was missing.
- The regular bosses (with the exception of the last one- I'll explain more later) were the same, and with the same tactics
- Not to put the Ultimate Big Bad as just a monster with a big amount of health, it is a Great Old God
- Needed more diverse monsters than the ranged attack monster, dog monster
- Speaking of the above note, need some monsters to look more "Lovecraftian" (e.g. Shoggoth for example?)
- Make the setting more dynamic (more reactive to combat?)- like it look like there is a story to be told, like a makeshift temple and monster crawl out angry because the play…
Enemies turning into Black Cats
when defeating an enemy in Alone in The Dark 3, why he's turning into a black cat and then leaves? what's the point in all this?

Mission Dei ?
(scavenge it from profile)
Due to his unflinching faith in God, Father Giger was recruited at an early age into one of the secret societies of the Holy See.
It wasn't blind faith that led him to report directly to the Pope, it was his rare ability to simultaneously believe and yet question those beliefs, to actively seek the truth no matter where it took him, mentally of physically. Alone in the Dark: Illumination Edit
It was now, in Lorwich, Virginia, that Giger would again test the bounds of his faith. During his years serving the Vatican, Giger had experienced unmentionable circumstances and has been pushed to the limits of mind, spirit and body. There was, however, a common thread throughout these situations. The thread stopped in Lorwich…
How to improve Alone in the Dark Illumination
Okay, i might have a couple of suggestions that could make Illumination into a better game.
1. need to tie in some of the Cthulhu mythos with the enemies. Looking at the HP Lovecraft wiki and i keep on seeing plenty of disturbing shapeless masses, including lots of eyes and mouths and drippy tentacles and all other shapes. The only thing that ties that mythos (besides the big bad god himself) was the Wraith/gaunt (wingless type though). the developers could simply have a look at the original game: it had nightgaunts, zombies, and Deep Ones (and even a Cthonian, but maybe make that a common enemy)
2. Make it less Mundane.
From what I can make out from the Youtube videos, the missions just involved trying to find a power battery for a so-calle…
The death of Alone in the dark series
As a great fan of Alone in the dark series, it's been a great ride. Until 2001.
The trilogy still gives me creeps, and i'm grown up. My worst nightmare is being stuck in a mansion or a dead town, like Slaughter Gulch, full of pirates and cowboys. Thanks infogrames.
First, Alone in the dark 1. It had so many puzzles, it was an extremely challenging game for the time it was made. And also it had so many trial-and-error. Death is almost certain when playing it. It's impossible to not die in your first playthrough, unless you're a genius to figure out the clues. It is definitely, the father of horror game genre. A masterpiece.
Second, The Alone in the dark 2. It wasn't so creepier and it had much more combat. Puzzles were simpler, but still, the …
Abkanis Tablets Translations
Abkanis Tablets Translations was book that contained details of the seven Gods of Light that were worshipped by the Abkani idnians.
Their words are like spears,
like lightning, bringing great
rolls of thunder; they emanate
from the mouths of the gods
themselves. You, Witchdoctor,
who read them. Beware! The
danger they conceal is far
greater than the power you

The terrible anger of the
Great Hecatonchires will rain
down on any usurper.
Know this, witchdoctor, that
this language was passed down
by your father, from your
father's father and beyond. It
is your flesh; it is your blood.
Your duty is to serve the
humankind, in its battle
against the shadows of the night

can only be acomplished

Help Wanted: Alonein the Dark Comic
Although there is a fair amount of references to the game, the information regarding the comic to The New Nightmare was less than easy, it took a while to find the one reference in the article. I don't know the complete storyline, so i would be extremely greatful if someone could help finish the comic: Life is a Hideous Thing
