At some point in the past, Elizabeth and Dexter married and had a daughter Natalie Dexter. Sometime after, she became a bother by her father-in-law, Ward Dexter, who secretly became obsessed with the occult and eternal life. Ward then offered her up to the witch, chaining her to an alter in the witches lab and watching as the witch cut open her chest and extracted her heart. The witch then inhabited Elizabeth's body in order to expand her life.
