Alone in the Dark 5 is the cancelled fifth chapter in the Alone in the Dark series that was in development by Atari / Infogrames Lyon House Studio in 2002, planned to be released on Playstation 2 and Xbox.

Cancellation[]

It is unclear what lead to Alone in the Dark 5 being cancelled, it could have been related to quality issues or because the series and the classic survival horror genre not being as popular as before.[1]

In 2003, Infogrames renamed all of its brands into Atari and heavily re-organized the company and their projects, which could have lead to the cancellation of the title, as it did to other Infogrames projects. Only a few images of early development and concept art remain to preserve its existence.
