The Arachnocid was meant to have been a boss in Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, but was scrapped some time before the game's completion.

Like the creature with the same name, it was also in the shape of a spider, however, it featured long tentacles coming out of its mouth.
the Arachnocid would presumably have been a boss in the game Carnby . It is possible that the creature gives birth and was a advanced or more developed version of the smaller Arachnocid. The monster also has two long tentacle-like growths that come straight from the mouth and which were presumably used for holding prey and drag it into its maw. In the game trailer you can see it while following Carnby in the hallway on the first floor of the Morton house.

- It is not known the reason for the creature's removal, as a complete 3D model is present in the game files.
- This creature probably have been a nod to the original Alone in the Dark because, in the basement of Derceto, you could meet a huge spider that was hunting the player.
- Despite not being in the game, the creature is featured in-game, in the game's opening cinematic/trailer.
