Alone in the Dark Wiki

The Flask is a recurring item in the Alone in the Dark series. It appears as a supply in the 90's trilogy and The New Nightmare (GBC), reappearing in Alone in the Dark (2024) as a container for the drink found in the game.

90's trilogy[]

Characteristics[]

The flask replenishes or increases 10 health points when consumed. When activated, it takes about three seconds to drink the flask. In the first Alone in the Dark, an empty flask will spawn in the inventory after consumption, while in the following titles the flask disappears and the player is taken back to the inventory menu.

  • Green Flask: Restores 20 health points
  • Blue Flask: Restores 25 health points

Acquisition[]

The flasks can be found when dropped by enemies or scattered around the environment.

Alone in the Dark (2024)[]

The Flask reappears in Alone in the Dark (2024) as a container for the drinks found in the game. The flask is present in the inventory since the beginning and doesn't need to be picked up. Edward and Emily each have their own unique flask to carry up to 5 units of drink.

Trivia[]

  • The flasks in Alone in the Dark 2, 3 and the 2024 game have the appearance of hip flasks commonly used to preserve liquor.
  • Carnby's flask in Alone in the Dark (2024) has a snake engraved in the leather that reminisces the giant snake found in the cellar in Alone in the Dark 3.
  • The flasks in Alone in the Dark (1992) have Jeremy Hartwood's initials engraved into the glass and bears the appearance of a liquor flask, not a medicine bottle.
  • The flasks in Alone in the Dark 2 seem to have a leather finish with a golden 'C' engraved in the middle, possibly Carnby's initial, with the item in itself acting as some sort of "refill" to his own flask.
