Gabriella Saunders is the mother of Grace Saunders, who hired Edward Carnby to retrieve a stolen painting and rescue her daughter taken by her husband Theodore Saunders. She appears as a minor unseen character in Alone in the Dark (2024).
Biography[]
Gabriella's past is unknown. At some point, Gabriella married Theodore Saunders and had a daughter named Grace Saunders and lived an apparently normal life of moderate wealth and status, until Theodore kidnapped their daughter and stole a painting that she held very dear. She then hired private investigator Edward Carnby to track down her husband to retrieve the painting and Grace.
Edward managed to find the painting that was already sold, he found out that her daughter was also taken and sought to track him down and rescue Grace. He eventually caught up with Theodore at the Pearl Bridge and ran him off into the lake, and, in an act of desperation, Carnby only rescued Grace and left Theodore stuck in the car to drown. He then returned Grace to Gabriella.
As the sole caregiver for Grace, Gabriella couldn't handle her daughter's traumatized state and provided next to no parental guidance and decided to have her commited in Derceto for supervision by an adult to "avoid further perversion of her adolescence."
