Ganesha

Ganesha was a fortune hunter who was one of the largest antique dealers in Asia. Ganesha is a character who appeared in the comic Life is a Hideous Thing related to Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.

Features

He is an antiquarian, refers to himself as a poor entrepreneur, and a treasure hunter. He seems to be well known in the Indian criminal environment and to be famous for his vast network of knowledge. He is very attached to material goods, he is particularly greedy and not at all interested in the scientific or historical values ​​of the finds he sells. He seems to have known Edward Carnby before and is very impressed by the skills of Professor Aline Cedrac. Despite being very pragmatic, he is also a very correct man, retracing his steps after running away, to help the two.

Life is a hideous thing

Aline Cedrac and her colleague Frank Stone search for Ganehsa near Sikimm, a town on the border between India and Nepal. The latter meets them in their hotel, saving them from a treasure dealer, his acquaintance: Ali. Aline hires him to organize and lead an expedition to the lost continent of Aggartha, for which he has found a map among the belongings of his unknown father. During the journey some porters are attacked and killed by the Mi-Go, of the monstrous Yeti who protect Aggartha, the group is saved from the intervention of Edward Carnby. All together they head to the depths of the Aggartha temple, where the Crown of Genghis is kept, an artifact of dark power that has turned the inhabitants of the continent into the Mi-Go. Stone takes the Crown revealing that he is a member of the Kun-Yin whose goal is to evoke the Growing Chaos, a dimensionless monstrosity. Stone raises the Rakashas against the group, demonic guardians of the Crown, but thanks to Aline they manage to save themselves and ally with the Mi-Go. At that point Ganesha decides to flee instead of chasing Stone but, when the Growing Chaos is evoked, he retraces his steps to help Aline and Carnby to close the fracture from which the monster is descending on the ground plane. Finally he climbs with the others on the ship of Dr. Leng in which he jokingly asks Aline to marry him.
