Hilda Pennicoat is a minor, unseen character mentioned in the X-Mas Issue of The Mystery Examiner. She worked as a chaperone for Grace Saunders, accompanying her at home and on her way to and from school.

Biography[]

The Mystery Examiner - X-Mas Issue[]

At 11:30 A.M. of December 21st, 1924, Grace Saunders left the Pacific College in the company of Hilda Pennicoat. A light brown limo with a Californian plate screeched to a halt beside them, and a man in dark coat and hat jumped out to swoop her. Pennicoat attempted to get between the man and Grace, but a mystery woman in black seated in the back of the limo stared at her, making Pennicoat fall into an instant coma, leaving Grace at the mercy of the agressor. The limo then sped off.

Desperate for answers and for the life of his daughter, the anxiety-wracked movie producer George Saunders waits for a ransom, with the police finding nothing but her school satchel and the limo half-sunk in the ocean. Frustrated with the incompetence of the police, he hires a detective to take on the case: Ted Striker.

Striker then finds out that Grace Saunders was kidnapped by One-Eyed Jack and Elizabeth Jarret and taken to Hell's Kitchen. He manages to sneak his way into the mansion and avoid the guards, he reaches the room that Grace in being kept in, but ends up being killed. But before getting to the estate, Ted sent Edward Carnby a telegram with Grace's location.
