Juan Luis Jorge is a character in the Alone in the Dark series. He appears as an unseen minor character in Alone in the Dark (1992) and as a major character in Alone in the Dark (2024), voiced by Anthony Palacios.
History[]
Alone in the Dark (1992)[]
Alone in the Dark (2024)[]
Character[]
Juan Luis Jorge shares his role in both games as the author of Reflections on the Power of the Verb in Certain Texts. Juan first appears in the 1992 title as his voice, first appearing physically in Alone in the Dark (2024) as a major character and omniscient narrator in the Lagniappes' Forbidden Knowledge.
Appearance[]
Juan is a slim man with a light tan skin, black hair and brown eyes. He wears a tan sweater, terracota pants and brown dress shoes. Although it could be the appearance of the real Juan Luis Jorge, it is worth noting he is fruit of an idealization in Jeremy's mind.
Personality[]
Juan is a manifestation of Jeremy's imagination, although never seen by him, appearing as a calm and wise man peacefully reading by his tree in Taroella. He welcomes Edward and Emily in the Convent with great sympathy and patience, helping them in any way possible to understand where they are and how to face the Dark Man.
Trivia[]
- Juan's voice actor is the same as Emily's late fiancée John Marcus.
- Along with Jeremy Hartwood, Juan appears in the first Alone in the Dark in the form of his voice when reading his book, making his first physical appearance in the 2024 reimagining.
