The PA4 is a submachine gun used by Theodore Carnby, inspired by the real M4, which appeared in the versions of Alone in the Dark: Illumination prior to the Patch Summer 2016 Update and removed from the subsequent ones.

Alone in the Dark: Illumination

The PA4 is the third and final submachine gun that Ted Carnby can equip. It inflicts serious damage and has a moderate rate of fire, making it a perfectly balanced weapon suitable for any circumstance. Like all machine guns it is equipped with a flamethrower whose charge is expressed by the character's skill bar. The magazine capacity is initially 30 bullets and, like the power and rate of fire, can be increased through the Hunter's class skills:
