Chapter 1[]
When first entering Derceto, Edward Carnby or Emily Hartwood must pass through the kitchen to get in the manor and open the front door. The pantry is located in the far corner of the kitchen, where the rat poison can be obtained. The room is entirely missable, as it is fundamentally not necessary to make any progress in the story. After this chapter, the pantry becomes inaccessible as the kitchen is locked.
Chapter 2[]
On the way to the ground floor, Detective Carnby gets in the kitchen to investigate. He first looks at the ingredients over the counter when he hears a strange commotion in the pantry that is partially opened. When approaching to investigate, he is caught by Miss Thompson and kicked out at knifepoint. She slams the door at his face as he awkwardly apologizes. [Note 1]
