The Pipe cleaner was an object that can be picked up by Edward Carnby in Alone in the Dark 2.

The Pipe cleaner was located near Ted Stryker's body, along with Ted Stryker's note, underneath a secret underground tunnel. It can be used in conjunction with the Page of a Newspaper, pushing out the key from a nearby lock and reaching the key with the newspaper.
