The Rope was an item in Alone in the Dark 2 that was located within the Hedge Maze gardens of the Hell's Kitchen estate. It is located specifically near the lone hatchway in the form of a giant Jack of diamonds playing card.
It need to be combined with the Hook, which is also found in the Hedge Maze to make a Hook and a Rope.
