Elizabeth Dexter (or known disparaginly as simply the Witch or Hag) was an evil century-old witch who serves as the main antagonist in Alone in the Dark II film. She is an enemy of the witch hunter, Abner Lundberg and Natalie Dexter's father.

Past[]
Natalie's grandfather working for the witch
Not much is known about her, or even her real name. She has lived for centuries. She is after a special dagger that contains a piece of the witch's heart inside it.
She gained the assistance of Ward Dexter, a witch hunter who secretly fell from grace, and gave her his own daughter-in-law in order to inhabit her body.
Ward's son beleived that his father was the one that tortured the witch.
Imprisonment[]
Ward Dexter had the witch's body buried in a tree in central Park. With her physical form sealed, the witch manifested in a ghostly form, seeking out her dagger in order to release her physical body. her spiritual form is formidable.
Even though her physical body was sealed inside a tree, she is able to manifest herself as a spiritless form. She was able to use a spiritual form and is formidable, which makes her impervious to firearms.
Despite seemingly being able to posesses bodies, the chosen body she cannot stay in it long unless the host's heart has been pierced or taken out.
Seemingly demise[]
Initially believing this to be over, Nathalie is taking a walk outside of Abner's place, while Carnby and Abner are going through the coded message Ward left. The message itself was revealed to be too easy and that the actions that were belived to have detroyed the witch actually freed her. The witch was revealed to have inhabited Nthalie's body, though Carnby speculate that because her soul is still in there, she only has a limited time before the body rejects her.
Capabilities[]
Despite the fact that her phsyical body being sealed, she is still a threat by leaving her body and manifesting as a spectral ghost. The downside to that form is that she cannot manifest during the day. The woitch's influence can be indicated by dark thunderstorms.
She also had the ability to inhabit someone else's body.

Trivia[]
- The Witch could have been based on several elements within the different games. She appears to be based on the evil sorceress, Elizabeth Jarret, who appears in the the second game.
- Her true body being stuck inside a tree could be referenced on Ezechiel Pregzt.
